Peter Gonshorowski, 87

Greenbush - Peter Gonshorowski, 87, died Friday, February 8, 2002 at Roseau Area Hospital in Roseau.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Gonshorowski Obit Monday, February 11, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Eucharistic ministers were Gerry Nubson and Bernard and Maribeth Gonshorowski. Jeanne Novacek provided special music, and Mitch Walski was the organist. Joan Bertilrud was the reader. Gift bearers were Chester and Veronica Novacek. Casketbearers included Dick Novacek, Luke Novacek, Neil Novacek, Joey Novacek, Daniel Novacek and Farrell Erickson. Interment was in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Greenbush with Collins Funeral Home of Greenbush in charge of the arrangements.

Peter Paul Gonshorowski was born on May 12, 1914 in Polonia Township of Roseau County near Greenbush, the son of Adam and Katie (Myzkawski) Gonshorowski. He grew up and attended school in Polonia Township and was baptized and confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leo.

On November 16, 1937, Peter married Gladys Dann at Leo. The couple lived on a farm in the Leo community until 1957 when they moved to Greenbush. Peter was an area well driller for many years. Gladys died on April 15, 1986.

Pete was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two sons, Terry (Hattie) of McCalla, Ala. and Charlie (Becky) of Aiken, S.C.; three daughters, Mary Kay (Arvid) Janson of Warroad, Jean (Larry) Hulett of Fargo, N.D., and Susan (Dennis) Hogsett of West Fargo, N.D.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Felix (Genevieve) of Greenbush; two sisters, Martha Novacek of Greenbush and Helen Goroski of Kenosha, Wisc.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his wife, Pete was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James and Peter W.; a grandson, Cole; four sisters, Josephine, Frances, Irene, and Delores; and a brother, Fabian.
