Lake Falls - Verner "Bud" Glass, 69, died on
Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at his home in Red
Lake Falls.
Mass
of Christian Burial was held
on
Saturday, November 22, 2003 at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, with Father
Lawrence Wagner officiating. Casket bearers
included Curt Beyer, Jeff Grenier, Ray Grenier,
Neil Beyer, Bruce Huot, Chuck Gjerstad, Stacey
Gibson, Jim Hagl and John Hagl. Bud was a member of
the Red Lake Falls American Legion.
Interment
was held at St. Dorothy's Cemetery in Dorothy.
Verner
"Bud" Glass was born on February 2, 1934 in
Crookston, the son of Verner L. and Elaine (Hellum)
Glass. He was baptized and confirmed at St.
Dorothy's Catholic Church in Dorothy, and attended
Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls.
He
entered the United States Army on January 22, 1953
and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged on
December 7, 1954.
Bud
was united in marriage to Dolores Huot on September
1, 1956 at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church. Bud
worked in Milwaukee for a time, following his
military discharge. He moved back to Red Lake
Falls, where he worked for Thibert Chevrolet, Brule
Seed and retired in 1996 from Kleven Ford.
Bud
was a fisherman and hunter, especially deer
hunting. He also enjoyed entertaining at Moose
Junction.
Survivors
include his wife, Dolores of Red Lake Falls; three
children, Todd (Jan) of Red Lake Falls, Tam
(Lionel) Sandness of Red Lake Falls and Troy
(Michelle) of Bemidji; eight grandchildren; three
sisters, Evon (John) Williams of Colorado Springs,
Colo., Sharon Bregier of Texas and Faye (Martin)
Sund of Thief River Falls; and several nieces and
nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
