Norma Gertner, 85

Crookston - Norma Gerstner, 85, formerly of Mentor, died Friday, December 28, 2001 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 4, at Stennes Funeral Home Chapel in East Grand Forks. Burial will be in the spring in Hoff Cemetery in Lankin, N.D.

Norma Bjornstad was born on March 8, 1916 in Vesta, N.D., the daughter of Carl and Sena Bjornstad. She grew up and attended school in the Vesta and Lankin, N.D. areas.

In 1932, Norma married Clarence Gerstner in Crookston. The couple moved to Minneapolis. In 1946, they moved to Grand Forks, N.D., and Norma worked at Mahalds Hardware in East Grand Forks and Sweet Clover Dairy and Hugo's Bakery in Grand Forks. Following retirement, they moved to Mentor. Clarence died on February 5, 1994.

Norma is survived by three sons, Ronald (Betty Lou) of Grand Forks, Norman of Mentor and Larry (Cheryl) of Vero Beach, Fla., nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Trenda of Grand Forks and Solvig Bina of Tolna, N.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a great-granddaughter, Tiffany. A00003B2001JA02
