Agnes Gaber, 86

Red Lake Falls - Agnes Gaber, 86, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 30, at Gaber obit St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Rev. Jeffrey Lytle officiating. Casey Klipping was the organist. Special music was provided by soloist Cassie Kappelhoff and a trio consisting of Cassie and Brianna Kappelhoff and Tiffany Warman. Casketbearers were Debbie Ramsley, Lynn Gaber, Barbara Cote, Jerry Gaber, Marty Cote, Ruby Gaber, Tammy Cassavant, Cindy Gaber, Shelly Kappelhoff, Brent Gaber, Paul Gaber, Shea Proulx, Amanda Gaber, Gigi Gaber and Darcie Tofsley. Burial was in Wylie Cemetery in Wylie with Johnson Funeral Service of Red Lake Falls in charge of the arrangements.

Agnes Lydia Rode was born on April 23, 1915 in Red Lake county, the daughter of Fred and Marie (Klostrich) Rode. She grew up in Red Lake county and attended school in Wylie, Dorothy and Red Lake Falls.

On August 16, 1948, Agnes was united in marriage to Victor Gaber in Red Lake Falls. In 1996, Agnes moved to the Villa St. Vincent. Victor died on October 6, 1998.

Agnes was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Gaber of Euclid, Gloria (Lyle) Cote of Red Lake Falls and Lorna (Carl) Tofsley of Crookston; a son, Joseph of Crookston; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Casavan of Camptonville, Calif., Elsie Scheuring of Aurora and Minnie Bjerke of Thief River Falls; and a brother, Alvin "Johnny" Rode of Coos Bay, Ore.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Lester; a grandson, Dale; a son-in-law, David "Jack" Gaber; a sister, Olga Leach; and four brothers, Fred, Emil, Adolph and Art. A00003B2001AG01
