Forks, N.D. Funeral Services will be held at 2
p.m., on Wednesday,
Nov.
12 (today), 2003, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Plummer, with Reverend Frank Ehling officiating.
Casket bearers include Kevin Tvedt, Ole Tvedt, Tim
Hagl, Bradley Duden, Troy Ferguson and Randy
Konickson. Interment will be at Emardville
Cemetery, in Emardville Township of Red Lake
County. Visitation will be one hour prior to
services at the church on Wednesday.
Darlene
Joanne Barker was born July 14, 1935, the daughter
of Sidney and Edna (Rutledge) Barker, at Lamberton.
She grew up and attended country school and
graduated from Lamberton High School in 1953. She
worked in Mankato as a secretary for about a year.
She
married Ervin Friedley and the couple made their
home and raised their children in Redwood Falls and
southern Minnesota. They then moved to Olivia.
On
June 11, 1965, Darlene was united in marriage to
Ron Theodore Freyholtz at the Methodist Church in
Olivia. They moved to Fosston, where they made
their new home. They lived on the farm until 1973,
when they purchased a farm near Red Lake Falls,
where they have since lived. In 1969, Darlene and
Ron adopted their son Shane. Darlene was a school
cook in Plummer, from 1996 until the present.
Darlene
was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church
Council and the American Legion Auxiliary. She
enjoyed watching sports, gardening on a large scale
and crossword puzzles. Reading was her greatest
hobby.
Survivors
include her husband, Ron of Red Lake Falls;
children, Chuck (Karen) Friedley of Mentor, Loree
Friedley of Austin, Texas, Donna (Ward) Arntson of
Buffalo Grove, Ill, Denise (Russ Carpenter)
Konickson of Plummer, and Shane (Carmen) Freyholtz
of Anchorage, Alaska; 12 grandchildren; five
sisters, Doris (Leon) Carter of Windom, Wilma Holck
of Jeffers, Peggy Matter of Woodburn, Ore. Jeanette
(Donald) Bast of Pennock and Lulu Bell (Dick) Moots
of Troy, Mont.; a brother Calvin (Doris) of
Jeffers; sisters-in-law, Rhoda Barker of Atwater,
and Audrey Barker of Montevideo.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers,
Earl, Jim, Bill and Bud and a sister, Margaret
