Plummer
- Helen Fremling, 90, died on Tuesday, November
26, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake
Falls.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, November 29 at the
Johnson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls with Rev.
Frank Ehling officiating. Linda Olson was the
organist and soloist. Casketbearers were Steve
Eskeli, Dave Eskeli, Wes Eskeli, Bruce Eskeli, Ray
Nenonen and Don Fox. Interment was in the Finnish
Cemetery in Plummer.
Helen
Helvie Eskeli was born on September 13, 1912, the
daughter of Nick and Ilmi (Marttila) Eskeli in
Plummer. She was baptized and confirmed into the
Lutheran faith. She grew up and attended a local
rural school.
On
September 5, 1938, Helen was united in marriage to
Charles Fremling in Plummer. The couple moved to
Chicago, Ill., where Helen worked as a housekeeper
and also worked at the YMCA. In 1985, they returned
to Plummer. Helen has spent the last 13 years in
Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls. She was a
member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicago, Ill.
She enjoyed cooking, visiting and especially like
spending time with family.
Survivors
include her brothers, Leonard of New York Mills and
Edward and Melvin, both of Plummer; a sister-in-law
and many nephews and nieces.
Helen was
preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a son,
Dean; and brothers and sisters, Wilma Huotari,
Woodrow Eskeli, Aini Wensche, Leo Eskeli and Martin
