Thief
River Falls - Joyce Fox, 81, died on Thursday,
March 25, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief
River Falls.
A
memorial service was held at
10:30
a.m. on Monday, March 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church
in Thief River Falls, with Rev. John Wollenzien
officiating. Interment will be held at Stordahl
Lutheran Cemetery in Wanamingo at a later date.
Joyce
Geraldine Greseth was born April 3, 1922 in Roscoe,
the daughter of Melvin Ignatius and Petra Marie
(Ullevig) Greseth. She was baptized and confirmed
in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Crookston
High School in 1940 and then attended nurses
training at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth,
graduating as a registered nurse.
On
May 5, 1944, Joyce was united in marriage to Neal
Stanley Fox in Duluth. Joyce continued her nursing
career at Deaconess Hospital until the couple
purchased a Photo Studio in Thief River Falls which
they continued to operate for many years.
Joyce
was involved with the Inter County Nursing Board,
Oakland Park Nursing Board, Tri County Nursing
Board and the Pennington County Welfare Board for
many years and was active in church activities.
Joyce liked to sew, knit, crochet, read, but most
of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors
include her husband, Neal of Thief River Falls; two
children, Michael (Mary) Fox of Elk River, and
Margaret Fox of Minneapolis; two grandchildren;
sister, Alice Lent of Duluth; and one brother,
Donald (Phyllis) Greseth and family of Wanamingo.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her brother,
Marlow Greseth and brother-in-law, Sherman Lent.
