Lake Falls - Lauretta Fournier, 92, died on
Thursday, July 17, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home
in Red Lake Falls.
Mass
of Christian Burial was
held
on Monday, July 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church
in Red Lake Falls with the Rev. Tim Bushy
officiating. Casketbearers were Melvin Mercil, Mike
Dufault, Lyle Brekken, Earl Strom, Russell Gervais,
Lester Gervais and Allen Fournier. Interment was in
St. Peter's Cemetery in Gentilly.
Lauretta
Gervais was born in Gentilly on June 20, 1911, the
daughter of Candid and Alda (Montcalm) Gervais.
On
October 12, 1936, Lauretta was married to Leo
Fournier in Gentilly. The couple lived and farmed
in Gentilly, where Lauretta was very on the farm.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in
Red Lake Falls, a member of St. Peter's Catholic
Church, the Golden Hours Senior Club, Ladies Guild
and St. Ann's Society. She worked many hours
cleaning for the church. She enjoyed crafts,
gardening, canning, pickling, selling produce from
her garden and playing cards.
Survivors
include sisters-in-law, Bernice Gervais of
Crookston and Vivian Sorsoleil of Turtle Lake,
Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews.
Lauretta
was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her
parents; and a brother, Leo Gervais.
