Paul - Blanche Folland, 84, died on Monday,
February 24, 2003 at Regions Hospital in St.
Paul.
Funeral
Mass was held on Thursday, February 27 at the
Neumann
Catholic Church in Eagan and a memorial service was
held at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Karlstad on
Friday, February 28. Interment was in Karlstad
Cemetery.
Blanche
Kranz was born on April 28, 1918, the daughter of
Charles and Grace (Rhude) Kranz in Strandquist. She
grew up and graduated from Strandquist High School
in 1936.
On
June 4, 1938, she was united in marriage to Bjarne
Folland in Strandquist, where he operated the local
newspaper and later worked in the bank. The couple
later moved to Karlstad to make their home. Bjarne
died in 1971. Blanche was a member of St. Edward's
Catholic Church and an active member of the
Karlstad Hospital Guild. She also worked at the
local clothing store in Karlstad.
Survivors
include two sons, Paul (Cathy) of St. Paul and
Thomas (Lindy) of Minong, Wisc.; a daughter, Mary
(John) Kozlawski of Denver, Colo.; 13
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five
sisters, Helen Stennes of Thief River Falls,
Lucille Mienies of Cannon Falls, Charlotte Sorenson
of Warren, Phyllis Rensch of St. Paul and Theresa
(Ernest) Oistad of Karlstad; and many nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Blanche
was preceded in death by her husband; her parents;
a son, Nicholas; and two brothers, Charles and
Gilbert Kranz.
