Arthur Folland, 79

Arthur FollandKarlstad - Arthur Folland, 79, died on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Karlstad Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12 (today) at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Don Kirchner officiating. Casketbearers will be Mike Folland, Jeremy Folland, Kris Folland, John Folland, Jeff Folland and O'Neil Larson. Honorary casketbearers will be all those who attend the service. Interment will be held in Eidsvold Cemetery in Halma. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Arthur Ingvald Folland was born on September 19, 1923, the son of Isaac and Anne (Hennissen) Folland in Halma. He was baptized and confirmed at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1942. Arthur served with the United States Army Air Corp, and following his discharge, returned to Halma.

On October 22, 1962, he married Rosa Daellenbach in Milwaukee, Wisc. He was employed as a Soo Line Railroad Depot agent for 30 years in Tolley, N.D. Following his retirement, the couple moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., and later, to Thief River Falls. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls. For the past year, Arthur has resided at Karlstad Healthcare Center.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa; two sons, John of Thief River Falls and Christian of Miami Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Iris Folland of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Lisa Folland of Fargo, N.D.; one brother, Lee (Joydis) of Halma; one sister, Alice Williams of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Agnes and Mildred; and three brothers, Harold, John and one in infancy.
