Harold Fladhammer, 77

Mentor - Harold Fladhammer, 77, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D. Marilyn Arness was the organist, Fladhammer Obit and Jim Hanson was the soloist. Casketbearers included Clayton Qualley, Curtis Qualley, Manley Versdahl, Jason Skiple, Darin Skiple and Neil Gulsvig. Interment was in Faith Lutheran Cemetery at Mentor with Johnson Funeral Service of Red Lake Falls in charge of the arrangements.

Harold Allen Fladhammer was born on May 23, 1924 at Leonard, N.D., the son of Christ and Anna (Versdahl) Fladhammer. He attended school in Erskine and Winger. On February 24, 1945, he entered the U.S. Army. He served during World War II and was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge on December 6, 1946.

On October 15, 1948, Harold was united in marriage to Corann Gulsvig at Oklee. The couple farmed near Mentor. Harold also worked as a carpenter and for American Crystal Sugar in Crookston until his retirement in 1981.

He enjoyed carpentry, traveling, reading, computers and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Harold is survived by his wife, Corann Fladhammer of Mentor; two daughters, Karen (Lorry) Stensrud of Lake Forest, Ill. and Pat (Jim) Hanson of Thompson, N.D.; two sons, Larry (Joan) Fladhammer of Maple Bay and Ron (Kim) Fladhammer of Joliet, Ill.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Myra (Arnold) Gulsvig of Fisher, Helen (Art) Lee of Erskine and Edna (Lawrence) Skiple of Red Lake Falls; and two brothers, Art (Delores) Fladhammer of Fergus Falls and Alvin (Gladys) Fladhammer of Fosston.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Fladhammer. A00003B2001JN27
