Warren
- Hulda Ferencik, 84, died Friday, October 3,
2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services were held Monday, Oct. 6 at Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church in Tabor, with the Rev. Charles
Johnson officiating. Casketbearers were Dean
Stinar, Dennis Newell, David Kopecky, Don
Strickler, David Larson and Duane Fillipi.
Interment was in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in
Tabor.
Hulda
Kleven was born December 12, 1918 in Oslo, the
daughter of Lars and Mary (Hedlund) Kleven. She was
raised in the Alvarado area, and she graduated from
Alvarado High School.
On
December 12, 1940, she married George Ferencik in
East Grand Forks. They made their home in rural
Warren where they farmed. George died on February
23, 1970. After George died, Hulda worked at the
Good Samaritan Center in Warren for many years. In
February 1997, she moved to the Good Samaritan
Center.
She
was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
where she was active with Ladies Aid and the Sunday
School program. Hulda also belonged to the Farley
Homemakers.
Hulda
enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable
gardens. She liked to visit with family and
friends.
Survivors
include two sons, Leroy Ferencik of Warren and
Kenneth (Rose) Ferencik of Cordova, Ill.; a
granddaughter; three brothers, Miles (Lora Jean)
Kleven of East Grand Forks, David (Frieda) Kleven
of Northwood, N.D., and Earl (Esther) Kleven of
Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Fern Kopecky of
Thief River Falls and Mae Newell of East Grand
Forks; a very special friend, Millie Kleven of
Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
Hulda
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and
four brothers.
