Nellie Farbo, 86

Thief River Falls - Nellie Farbo, 86, died Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Farbo obit a.m. today (Wednesday, April 24) at 10 a.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church with Rev. Marcus Mundell officiating. Sylvia Rondorf will be the organist, and special music will be presented by Lois and Jerome Bray. Casketbearers will be James Weckwerth, Bryan Cloutier, Wade Alten, and Curtis Farbo. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church. Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Nellie Louise Nelson was born on February 11, 1916 at Hazel in Pennington County, the daughter of Nels M. and Hannah Louise (Loken) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauli Lutheran Church and attended a rural school at Hazel. Nellie did domestic work in area homes.

In 1958, she married Ralph Robidoux. He died in 1974. On December 18, 1979, Nellie married Alvin Farbo in Thief River Falls where the couple made their home. Alvin died on April 9, 2002.

Nellie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Thief River Falls.

She enjoyed baking, bird watching, and spending time with family and friends.

Nellie is survived by three sisters, Myrtle Erickson of Thief River Falls, Evalin Wold of Locus Grove, Calif., and Pearl Dicken of Hawthorne, Calif.; a brother, Nels Henry (Kathryn) Nelson of Thief River Falls; five stepchildren, Richard Farbo of Missoula, Mont., Linda (Dr. Ruben) Thorbus of Hanford, Conn., Carole Cloutier of Thief River Falls, Phillip (Michelle) Farbo of Alexandria, Va., and Craig (Lora) Farbo of Temple, Texas; nine step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and several aunts and uncles.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Hazel Wedul; two brothers, Norman and Raynard; and a step-grandson, Alex Cloutier. A00003B2002AP24
