River Falls - Florence Faiman, 97, died on
Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at the CNC Unit of
Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, March 28 at the
Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls
with the Rev. Tim McGee officiating. Carol Amundson
was the organist and Shelly Burkel was the soloist.
Casketbearers were Florence's nephews. Honorary
casketbearers were all those who loved and cared
for Florence. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery
in Thief River Falls.
Florence
J. Faiman was born on October 27, 1905, the
daughter of Jaroslav "Julius" and Marie (Vlasek)
Faiman, in Agdar Township of Marshall County. She
grew up and attended the Busy Bee Hive School in
Agdar Township. She moved to Chicago as a young
woman, where she worked for the Bell Telephone
Company as a night supervisor for over 40 years.
She moved back to Thief River Falls in 1974.
Florence was an avid reader and enjoyed reading
about and discussing health issues and politics.
She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors
include nine nieces and nephews; and many
great-nieces and great-nephews.
Florence
was preceded in death by her parents; seven
sisters, Frances Rhude, Anna Nygaard Olson, Julia
Alexander, Mildred Spittstoesser, Alice Johnson,
Marie Torgergson and Libby Benson; and two
brothers, Gustav and Julius "Billy" Faiman.
