Plummer
- Rosemary Eskeli, 61, died Tuesday, May 8,
2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls.
Funeral
services were held at 2
p.m.
on Saturday, May 12, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Plummer with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Linda
Olson was the organist, and Mya Zutz was the
soloist. Casketbearers were Jim Wright, Ryan Lund,
Ronald Freyholtz, Lowell Johnson, Randy Eskeli and
Don Fox. Interment was in the Finnish National
Cemetery at Plummer with Johnson Funeral Service of
Red Lake Falls in charge of the
arrangements.
Rosemary
Alice Lund was born on March 9, 1940 at Fosston,
the daughter of Henry and Myrtle (Krogh) Lund. She
was raised in the Trail area and graduated from
Gonvick High School. She worked for a time in Thief
River Falls.
On
June 27, 1959, Rosemary was united in marriage to
Melvin Eskeli at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in
Trail. The couple lived in Chicago, Ill. for three
years. In April of 1963, they moved to Plummer
where they had since resided. Rosemary worked as
the head cook at the Plummer School for 22
years.
She
was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church,
serving on the church council and teaching Sunday
School. Rosemary was also involved in the Holly
Hock Homemakers Club, Plummer Community Club and
was a past president of the American Legion
Auxiliary.
She
enjoyed quilting, crafting, gardening and growing
flowers.
Rosemary
is survived by her husband, Melvin Eskeli of
Plummer; five sons, Lonnie (Julie) Eskeli of
Andrews Air Force Base, Md., Wesley (friend Jeanie
Schmidt) Eskeli of Roseau, Eric (Gina) Eskeli of
Elk Grove, Ill., and David (DeeAnn) Eskeli and
Steve (Becky) Eskeli, both of Plummer; a daughter,
Lisa (Ryan) Thompson of Prior Lake; six
grandchildren; and two aunts.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and a
grandson, Justin Eskeli. A00003B2000MY16
