Mabel Erickson, 90

Greenbush - Mabel Erickson, 90, formerly of Badger, died on Monday, August 4, 2003 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 9 at Badger Creek Lutheran Church in Badger with the Rev. LeRoy Flickinger officiating. Casketbearers were Gwen Taylor, Geri Davidson, Greg Stassen, Russel Novacek, Tammie Schroeder and Jeff Secord. Interment was in Moe-Rose Cemetery in Roseau.

Mabel Augustina Bertilrud was born in Greenbush on August 2, 1913, the daughter of Mikel and Anna (Everson) Bertilrud. She grew up and attended country school near Greenbush.

On March 2, 1935, she was united in marriage to Roy Irvin Anderson in rural Greenbush. They farmed in Greenbush and Mabel operated restaurants in Greenbush, Badger and Minneapolis for several years. Roy died in 1974.

Mabel married Ernest Erickson in September 1982. She loved to garden and loved flowers. She especially enjoyed crocheting, visiting and family.

Survivors include three daughters, Gayle Stassen of Rockford, Marlys (David) Novacek of Lake Park and Sandra (LuVerne) Hagen of Badger; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; two brothers, Maurice (Arlene) Bertilrud of Greenbush and Rudy (Verna) Bertilrud of Auburn, Wash.; four sisters, Helen Kilen of Greenbush, and Clara Boe, Lillian Lennon and Gloria Bertilrud, all of Duluth; and two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Bertilrud and Joan Bertilrud, both of Greenbush.

Mabel was preceded in death by her two husbands; one son, Irvin Anderson; two granddaughters; one grandson; a son-in-law, Gordon Stassen; one sister, Olga Thomson; and two brothers, Edwin and Arnold Bertilrud. A00003B2003AG13
