Arthur Erickson Jr., 63

Adams, N.D. - Arthur C. "Junior" Erickson, 63, died Monday, May 7, 2001 at Dakota Clinic in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at Victory Free Lutheran Church in Park River. Casketbearers were Luaine Johnson, Ron Setness, Mark Bennington, Loren Machart, John Shirek and Scott Heffta. Interment was in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, rural Park River. Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River was in charge of the arrangements.

Arthur C. Erickson Jr. was born on December 6, 1937 in Latona township of Walsh county of North Dakota, the son of Arthur C. and Ingeborg (Sjoberg) Erickson. He grew up and attended school in Walsh county. He also attended the University of North Dakota Lake Region at Devils Lake.

On June 25, 1961, Arthur married Mary Ann Nottestad at St. Peter Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Adams and Park River, N.D. area until 1998. Arthur was currently working at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls.

He was a member of Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River and served as a trustee on the Mountain Lutheran Church board for many years.

He enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Montana and Wyoming, amateur radio and hunting.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Adams, N.D.; a daughter, Terri (Louis) Machart of Park River, N.D.; a son, David (Tricia) Erickson of Powell, Wy.; his mother, Ingeborg Erickson of Park River; five grandchildren; four sisters, Marion (Roy) Westling of Henderson, Pearl (Lee) Bennington and Ruth (Bud) Ramsey, both of Park River, N.D., and Betty (William) Pich of Rushford; and a brother, Arlen.
