Deloris Erickson, 93

Karlstad - Deloris Erickson, 93, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Valley Memorial Home in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services were held at 10 Erickson obit a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Karlstad Baptist Church in Karlstad with Rev. Carroll Erickson officiating. Corienne Jacobson was the organist, and Vangie Carlson was the vocalist. Casketbearers included Albert Walz, Scott Egstad, Todd Erickson, John Nelson, Shane Nelson, and Johnny Nelson. Deloris' grandchildren served as honorary casketbearers. Interment was in Karlstad Cemetery in Karlstad with Collins Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Deloris Anne Erickson was born on October 26, 1908 near Stephen, the daughter of Erick and Freda (Johnson) Erickson. She grew up and attended school near Stephen.

On October 25, 1927, Deloris was united in marriage to Alvin P. Erickson at Warren. The couple lived and farmed in the Stephen area for many years before moving to Karlstad in 1965. After Alvin's death on May 23, 1996, Deloris continued to make her home in Karlstad, and on April of 2001, she moved to Valley Memorial Home in Grand Forks, N.D.

She was a longtime member of Karlstad Baptist Church.

Deloris is survived by two sons, Don (Sherill) of Hoyt Lakes and Glenn (Carol) of Thief River Falls; two daughters, Doris (Harold) Walz of Aurora and Marvella "Mickey" (David) Egstad of Grand Forks, N.D.; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, John (Marge) Nelson of Aurora; a daughter-in-law, Norma Erickson of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Phyllis Larson of Strandquist; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; a daughter, Priscilla; a son, Dale; two grandsons, Mark and Chad; a sister, Irene; and a brother, Elmer.
