Engstrom, 94
Idaho
Falls, Idaho - Selma H. Engstrom died on
Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Care
Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, at the age of 94.

Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at the
Evangelical Covenant Church in Warren, with Rev.
Brian Schanil officiating. Visitation will be held
one hour prior to services at the church on
Wednesday. Interment will be held at Holt Cemetery
in Holt.
Selma
Helena Geving was born on April 19, 1910 in
Highlanding, the daughter of Arnt and Josephine
(Hanson) Geving. Selma grew up on the farm with her
parents and three siblings, Ragnhild, Engvald and
Bennie. She attended Old Glory Country School.
On
June 3, 1933, she married Elmer G. Engstrom. They
made their home in Goodrich, where they welcomed
twin sons, Elmer Jr. and Alvert "Sonny" into their
family. They moved to Wayne, Mich. in 1940 and in
1946 they moved to East Valley Township, Marshall
County. Elmer died in 1963. Selma moved to Grand
Forks, N.D. after Elmer died and she worked at
Deaconess Hospital.
In
1990, she moved to Warren, where she lived with her
sister-in-law, Emelia "Millie" Engstrom. Selma
moved to Idaho Falls in 2000.
She
was an avid quilter. Selma enjoyed her quilting
group in Warren. She made many good friends in
Warren during her ten years that she lived there.
While in Idaho Falls, she continued to quilt and
she shared this love of quilting with her
granddaughters, Kim and Kerry. She donated many
quilt squares to her church. Selma had a cheerful
personality who enjoyed to joke and tell stories to
her many friends.
Selma
was a strong believer in prayer and she loved her
church.
Survivors
include her son, Elmer D. Engstrom of Idaho Falls;
four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and
many nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her husband; her son,
"Sonny" when he was 13; her sister, Ragnhild Teige
and brothers, Engvald and Bennie.
