Newfolden
- Senora Elseth, 79, died on Tuesday, October
15, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Saturday,
October 19 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Newfolden with Rev. Ollie Urdahl officiating. Kathy
Rokke was the organist. Wendy Blazejewski sang
"Good Bye For Now" and Diane Haven sang "Wind
Beneath My Wings." "Supper Time" and "In His Time"
was sung as a duet by Diane Haven and Wendy
Blazejewski. Casketbearers were Senora's
grandchildren, Tracy Hjelle, Philip Sillanpaa,
Dayton Elseth, Chad Elseth, Shannon Brehmer, Travis
Elseth, Scott Nelson, Nicole Homme, Jeremy Nelson,
Matt Nelson, Tal Elseth, Troy Elseth and Jacob
Elseth. Honorary casketbearers were the Newfolden
American Legion Auxiliary. Interment was in Oak
Grove Cemetery in Newfolden.
Senora
Judith Tunheim was born on December 2, 1922, the
daughter of Oscar and Amanda (Johnson) Tunheim in
Newfolden. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Lutheran faith and attended Wildwood Country
School. She graduated from Newfolden High School in
1940. Following high school, she received her LPN
certificate. On November 17, 1945, Senora was
married to Lester Klemence Elseth in Bethlehem
Church of New Solum.
Senora
was a nurse, a farm wife and worked at Arctic Cat
and Green Thumb. She was also a cook at the senior
center and was also self-employed making lefse and
doughnuts. She enjoyed flowers and gardening,
canning and baking, making quilts and helping
others. Senora loved spending time with her family
and grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending
sporting events, especially basketball games when
her grandchildren were playing. She was a member of
New Hope Lutheran Church and the American Legion
Auxiliary, where she had served as president and
project future.
Survivors
include four children, Bruce (Connie) of Newfolden,
Deland (Joy) of Newfolden, Leon (Joyce) of San
Antonio, Texas and Sheila (Vernon) Nelson of
Newfolden; 13 grandchildren; seven
great-granchildren; and a sister-in-law, Lucille
Tunheim.
Senora
was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her
parents; a great-grandson; and one brother, Raymond
Tunheim.
