Greenbush
- Ross Eeg, 58, died Friday October 10, 2003 at
his rural Greenbush home.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday Oct. 16 in Bethal
Lutheran Church of Greenbush, with Pastor Bryce
Fellbaum officiating. Casket bearers were Alton and
Allen Aamodt, Terry Anderson, Garner Eeg, Dean
Carlson, Ken Klegstad, Lindon and Owen Westerberg.
Interment was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in
Greenbush.
Ross
Eeg was born Roslyn Tenney Eeg on Jan. 9, 1945 to
parents Tenney and Ruth (Westerberg) Eeg in
Hallock. He grew up in Greenbush and graduated from
Greenbush High School in 1963. He attended the
University of North Dakota for three years, then
graduated from the University of Minnesota, with a
degree in Mortuary Science in 1967. He worked at
the Boughton Funeral Home in Britt, Iowa;
Welander-Quist Funeral homes in Minneapolis and the
Johnson-Bowman Funeral Home in Mankato. He married
Deanna Neubert on Dec. 31, 1973 in Fargo, N.D. They
moved back to Greenbush in 1974 when he purchased
the Listug Funeral Home in Roseau. He opened the
Eeg Funeral Chapel in Greebush in 1975 and closed
the Listug firm in 1976. He sold the Eeg Funeral
Chapel in 1984. Ross and his wife Dee also operated
the Cedar Chest Floral and Gift Shop in Greenbush
for several years. Ross also farmed part-time in
Greenbush. He also worked for the US postal service
as s rural carrier in Lake Bronson and Greenbush
for 18 years.
Ross
loved to travel and traveled extensively throughout
Europe and other parts of the world. He enjoyed
woodworking and dealing with antiques. He
especially enjoyed sailing his sailboat on Lake of
the Woods. He enjoyed his new grandaughter and was
thrilled with the news of an even newer
granddaughter on the way.
He
is survived by his wife Deanna; one son Tennes
(Renae) of Tracy; one daughter, Andrea (Jason)
Reierson of Frazee; one grandaughter; his mother
Ruth of Greenbush; one brother Byron (Carolyn) of
Greenbush; one sister Caryn (Bradley) Linn of Eau
Claire, Wisc.; one sister in law, Karen Eeg of
Montevideo; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts
and other relatives.
He
was preceded in death by his father Tenney, in 1965
and one brother Barry, in 1983.
