Rick Edlund, 50

Goodridge - Rick Edlund, 50, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 15 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Donovan Edlund officiating. Special music was provided by Scott Julin.

Rick Dean Edlund was born on December 3, 1952, the son of Arnold and Arlene (Hawley) Edlund in Whittier, Calif. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Fertile and attended and graduated from Fertile-Beltrami School.

On March 31, 1973, he married Dawn Hanson in Plummer. Rick farmed, drove semi-truck, worked construction and worked at 7-Clans Casino in Thief River Falls. He enjoyed playing keyboard, cutting wood, fishing, farming, playing darts, dancing and singing karaoke. Rick loved to tell jokes. He liked being outdoors, driving through the woods and spending time with his family and friends. Rick was an excellent musician.

Survivors include three children, Kristen Edlund of St. Paul, Angela Edlund of St. Paul and Ryan Edlund of Thief River Falls; his parents, Arnold and Arlene Edlund of Fertile; one brother, Donovan (Dawn) of Crookston; three sisters, Susan (Lowell) Ostenson of McIntosh, Sharon Edlund of Fertile and Sandy (Dean) Rasmussen of Fertile; and 25 nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by three grandparents.
