Portage,
Wis. &endash; Josephine I. Dunbar, 93, Portage,
died on June 30, 2002, at Divine Savior Extended
Care in Portage.
Memorial
services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at
Divine Savior Extended Care Chapel. Interment will
be at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later
date.
Josephine
I. Dunbar was born on April 7, 1909, in rural Thief
River Falls, the daughter of Haaken and Martha
(Mortenson) Nabben. On October 2, 1940 she was
united in marriage with Nelson A. Dunbar. Mr.
Dunbar preceded her in death on September 28, 1982.
Josephine was employed as a sales clerk at Sears in
Milwaukee and as a seamstress at Snow White in
Milwaukee. Josephine was a member of Royal
Neighbors of America for over 50 years. Reading,
crocheting, knitting and various other crafts were
favorite pastimes.
Survivors
include two daughters: Dianne Behling of Macomb,
Mich.; and Joy Baxter (Howie Gassen and his son
Nathan) of Reedsburg; six grandsons, three
granddaughters; 17 great-grandchildren; four great
great-grandchildren; two sisters: Johanna Green and
Adeline "Dot" Moe; a brother Victor Nabben; and
many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and
friends.
Josephine
was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter
Norma Rae Reamer, sons-in-law, Edwin Reamer and
Martin Baxter; nine brothers; two sisters-in-law,
and three brothers-in-law.
