Thief
River Falls - Betty Dow, 83, died Friday, April
23, 2004 at CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in
Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held Monday,
April 26, at Johnson-Green Funeral Service in Thief
River Falls, with David Stromlund officiating.
Casket bearers included Mitch Erickson, Jeff
Erickson, Chad Wulff, Steve Bergland, Keith
Erickson, Neil Konickson and Don Brown. Interment
was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River
Falls.
Betty
Franks was born February 2, 1921 in Viceroy,
Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Loren and
Esther (Northrop) Franks. She was 6 years old when
the family moved to Minneapolis. At age 8, the
family moved to Plummer and when she was 16 they
moved to Thief River Falls where she had since
resided.
She
was united in marriage to Levern E. Dow on March 3,
1939 in Thief River Falls.
Betty
worked at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls as a CNA in Pediatrics for 13 years. She
enjoyed knitting, flowers and playing Aggravation.
Survivors
include her daughters, Marylin L. Erickson and
Sandra K. Griffin, both of Roseau; one son, Larry
L. (Marijeanne) Dow of Arlington Heights, Ill.;
sisters, Louise (David) Wiley and Esther (Joe)
Auge, all of Donna, Texas; one brother, Larry
Franks of Washington; nine grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren; a special niece, Lenore (Don)
Brown; 23 other nieces and nephews; and a
sister-in-law, Virgine Lanska of Hibbing.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Levern in
1980; her parents and mother-in-law, Ruth Dow.
