Dona J. Donarski, 65

Strandquist -- Dona J. Donarski, 65, Strandquist, died on Friday, November 9, 2001 at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis.

Dona Donarski photo color copy Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, with Reverend Mary Ronning officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Newfolden.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Dona Jean Sundberg was born on July 21, 1936, the daughter of Gunnar and Clarice (Cassibo) Sundberg in Thief River Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at the Mission Covenant Church in Strandquist. She attended school in Strandquist graduating in 1955. On November 4, 1955, she was united in marriage to Wayne Donarski. The couple made their home in Minneapolis for a brief time then settled on a farm near Strandquist. Dona worked at Northern Pride for the USDA as a federal inspector for over 30 years.

She enjoyed crocheting. She loved to square dance and waltz with her husband. She also enjoyed ceramics and painting and taught Sunday school at Bethesda Church. Dona was a member of the Eagles in Karlstad, and the American Legion in Middle River.

Dona is survived by her three sons Gary (Dawn) Donarski of Newfolden; Timothy (Brenda) Donarski of Newfolden, and Donovan Donarski of Strandquist; ten grandchildren; sisters Agnes (Charles) Bleise of St. Paul; Patsie (Donald) Erickson of Crookston; Joyce Miller of Newberg, Or., and Marge Hayes of Emo, Ontario, Canada and special friend Gerald Larson.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne in 1989, and her parents Gunner and Clarice Sundberg.

Pallbearers included: John Wawrzynyiak, Wayne Larson, Dean Holmstrom, Dave Bennett, Larry Edmond, Dennis Wawrzynyiak.

Honorary pallbearers included all of Dona's grandchildren.
