Rudolph Dobias, 82

Pequot Lakes - Rudolph "Rudy" Dobias, 82, died Saturday, April 27, 2002.

Services were held Sunday, May 5, at 1:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Pine River with Rev. John Twiton officiating. Military honors were accorded by American Legion Post 49 of Pequot Lakes, and interment was in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley. Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter/Brainerd was in charge of the arrangements.

Rudolph "Rudy" Albert Dobias was born on May 4, 1919 in Angus, the son of Albert A. and Barbara (Ouranda) Dobias. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1945 in England and Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for the Ford Motor Company in St. Paul on the body build line.

On June 26, 1954, Rudy was united in marriage to Delina Katherine Anderson. Following his retirement in 1978, they moved to Lake Ada near Pine River. In 1997, they moved to Pequot Lakes.

Rudy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pine River and Pequot Lakes American Legion Post 49.

He enjoyed mechanical work and fishing.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Delina; a daughter, Deborah (Gerry) Wilder of Amery, Wisc.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Dobias of Ozark, Mo.; a sister, Mary Ann Mikkelson of Thief River Falls; a brother, Arthur Dobias of Angus; and four grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his son, Kurt; two grandchildren, Heather and Jeremiah; his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
