James Dessellier, 48

Oklee - James Dessellier, 48, of Oklee died at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls on Friday, February 13, 2004.

Mass of Christian Burial will be obit-Desselleier, Jim photo held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, (today) Feb.18, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, with Father John Kleinwachter officiating. Casket bearers include Vincent Dessellier, Gene Dessellier, Alex Dessellier, Maurice Cote, Myron Cote and Bennet Larson. Interment will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery in Oklee.

James was born on April 19, 1955 to George and Irene (Cote) Dessellier in Red Lake Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee. Jim graduated from Oklee High School in 1974 and graduated from Northwest Vocational Technical College in 1976. He worked at American Crystal Sugar in Crookston for 27 years, he also worked periodically at the Oklee Elevator and for the City of Oklee.

Jim enjoyed fishing, bowling, sports and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was very active in the Oklee Fire Department serving as chief. He also was on the Oklee Ambulance Service, the Red Lake County Fair Board and was District 3 State Representative for the fire department.

Survivors include his mother Irene Dessellier of Oklee; brothers and sisters: Mike (Grace) Dessellier of Oklee, Diane Dessellier of Thief River Falls, Doris Dessellier of Oklee, Dorene Dessellier of Oklee, Betty (David) Brinkman of Fosston, Shirley (Orville) Brinkman of Trail, Linda (Keven) Roisland of Oklee, Audrey (John) Schmit of Trail; seventeen nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his father George; an infant sister Mary; grandparents, Andrew and Alexina Dessellier and Aristad and Agnes Cote. A00003B2004FB18
