Lake Falls - Sybil Derosier, 73, died on
Monday, June 16, 2003 at Altru Hospital in Grand
Forks, N.D.
Mass of
Chrisitan Burial was held on Monday, June 23 at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with the
Rev. Tim Bushy and the Rev. Jerry Noesen
officiating. Casketbearers were Joseph Kaufman,
Brian Kaufman, Craig Kaufman, Rusty Remick, Doug
Derosier and Mike Costello. Interment was in St.
Anthony Cemetery in Terrebonne.
Sybil
Joanne St. Ives was born on a farm near Terrebonne
on October 19, 1929, the daughter of Eli Pierre and
Edna Ruth (Pouliot) St. Ives. She was baptized and
confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and
attended Beaugerlot School through the eighth
grade, and graduated from Lafayette High School in
Red Lake Falls in 1945. Following high school, she
attended business school in Fargo, N.D. She worked
at Warner's Insurance in Fargo.
On June
16, 1949, Sybil was united in marriage to Maurice
Joseph Derosier in Terrebonne. In 1951, the couple
moved to a farm near Red Lake Falls. They moved to
Chicago, Ill., in 1983 and to the Twin Cities in
1986. In October 1989, they returned to Red Lake
Falls. Sybil was a very caring person who loved her
husband, children and home. She was a talented
seamstress and gardener and loved working with her
flowers. She especially enjoyed visiting with famiy
and friends. She was a member of the Lake Pleasant
Homemakers Club, St. Joseph RCIA Team, St. Joseph's
School Board, Catholic Daughters, Cursillo
Movement, St. Joseph's Ladies Guild, American
Legion Auxiliary, St. John's Hospital Auxiliary,
Hillcrest Board and Auxiliary and was a district
representative for the Nursing Home.
Survivors
include her husband, Maurice of Red Lake Falls; six
children, Michael (Linda) of Kettle Falls, Wash.,
Larry (Jeanette) of Roy, Wash., Susan (Charles)
Kaufman of Shoreview, Lucy (Massimo) Mazzoni of
Porto San Giorgio, Italy, John (Janet) of White
Bear Township and Janet (Michael) Etten of
Roseville; 14 grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Sybil was
preceded in death by her parents; one brother,
Glen; two sisters, Julie Costello and Charlotte
Remick; and two infant brothers.
