Red
Lake Falls - Dora Derosier, 79, died on Friday,
May 16, 2003 at Valley Home in Thief River
Falls.
Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on
Wednesday, May 21 (today) at St. Joseph's Catholic
Church in Red Lake Falls with the Rev. Tim Bushy
officiating. Polly Beyer will be the organist,
David Lunsetter will be the soloist and special
music will be provided by the St. Joseph Choir.
Casketbearers will be Chris Derosier, Mathieu
Derosier, Bradley Derosier, Chad Troska, Marc
Troska, Eric Troska, Daniel Konickson and Michael
Jessen. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery
in Terrebonne. Visitation will be held for one hour
prior to services at the church.
Dora
Reopelle was born on August 12, 1923, the daughter
of Euclid and Delia (LaPlante) Reopelle, in Red
Lake Falls. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Catholic faith at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and
attended Badger Country School in Red Lake
County.
On March
8, 1943, she was united in marriage to Louis
Derosier in Red Lake Falls. The couple made their
home in Gervais Township of Red Lake County, where
they operated a dairy and small grain farm. Dora
worked at the hospital in Red Lake Falls and at
Detroiter for over 20 years. The couple moved to
Washington state, where she worked as a cook at
Bethel High School. In 1980, they moved to Red Lake
Falls for a short time, then to Goodridge, where
Louis helped on the Troska farm. In 1982, they
moved to Brooks, where they resided for 20 years.
Dora also worked at Valley Home for several years.
Louis died in 1987. Dora lived in Red Lake Falls
for a short time and in February 2003, she moved
into Valley Home in Thief River Falls.
Dora
loved to make donuts for everyone. She was a
wonderful gardener and enjoyed working and spending
time with her family and friends. She was a member
of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brooks and Red
Lake Falls.
Survivors
include four children, Robert (Brenda) of Pearl,
Miss., Nancy (Paul) Troska of Reno, Nev., Karen
(Don) Konickson of Plummer, and Doug (Deb) of Red
Lake Falls; 14 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Bregier of
Plummer; brothers-in-law, Maurice and Sybil
Derosier, both of Red Lake Falls; sisters-in-law,
JoAnn Derosier and Ella Mae Derosier, both of Red
Lake Falls, Lucille Bevier of Tacoma, Wash.,
Madonna Balmer of Tacoma, Wash., and Mickey
Derosier of Lodi, Calif.; and many nieces and
nephews.
Dora was
preceded in death by her husband, Louis; sisters,
Laura Riel and Flordia Phillips; and one brother in
infancy.
