River Falls - Ernest Delorme, 78, died Monday,
December 31, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in
Thief River Falls.
Mass
of Christian Burial will
held
t 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 4, at St. Bernard's
Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father
Tim McGee, Monsignor Roger Grundhaus and Deacon
John Eisbrener presiding.Carol Amundson will be the
organist, and Staci Millner, Cindy Delorme and Jane
Mattson will be the cantors. Readers will be Bryan
Delorme and Kelly VanSchaick. Casketbearers will
include grandsons Steve Millner, Scott Millner,
Eddy Delorme, Jim Mattson, Bryan Delorme, Corey
Delorme and Nicholas Delorme. Burial will be at St.
Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.
Visitation
will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer
service on Thursday, January 3, at Green Funeral
Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be
held for one hour prior to services at the church
on Friday.
Ernest
Delorme was born on February 1, 1923 in Gentilly,
the son of Eldage and Lena (Violette) Delorme. He
was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Catholic
Church in Gentilly and attended a rural school near
Gentilly.
On
January 4, 1944, Ernest was united in marriage to
Noella Derosier at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in
Terrebonne. Ernest worked at the Brooks Cheese
Factory for 10 years. In 1954, the couple moved to
Thief River Falls where he employed at the Thief
River Falls Creamery for 16-1/2 years. He also
worked in maintenance at St. Bernard's Church for
two years before going to work at Arctic Cat where
he was employed until his retirement in 1984.
Following retirement, he enjoyed doing odd jobs.
Ernest
was a member of Knights of Columbus, Eagles and St.
Bernard's Catholic Church.
He
enjoyed fishing, playing cards, professional sports
and watching the birds and squirrels in the yard.
Ernest
is survived by his wife, Noella, of Thief River
Falls, MN; four sons, Roy (Evelyn) Delorme and
Richard (Cindy) Delorme, both of Coon Rapids,
Russell (Karen) Delorme of Moorhead, and Michael
Delorme of Fridley; three daughters, Marlys Millner
of Shakopee, Margaret (Dennis) Mattson of Gilbert
and Suzanne Krause of Fargo, N.D.; 16
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Delorme; a
son-in-law, Alan Krause; his parents; a brother,
Emery Delorme; two sisters, Elise Brule and Leah
LaCoursiere; and a great- grandson, William O'Hara.
