Steve Dehne, 49

Trail - Steve Dehne, 49, died Thursday, August 2, 2001 at his home in Trail.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 10, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Clearbrook with the President William Green officiating. Disposition will be burial at sea. Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley was in charge of the arrangements.

Steve Dehne was born on October 26, 1951 at Menomonee, Wisc., the son of Earl and Frances (Rowe) Dehne. The family moved to Stewartville and then to Minneapolis in 1958. In 1966, Steve moved with his mother, brothers and sister to Erskine where he attended school and graduated in 1971.

He entered the United States Navy and served from 1971 until 1975 during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he married Gail Adams on May 29, 1976 at Erskine. Steve attended the University of Minnesota from 1976 until 1978. The couple moved to the Portland, Ore. area. Steve worked as a machinist for Burns Brothers at Clackamas, Ore. for 18 years. In September of 1998, Steve and his family moved to Trail, and he worked for Machinewell in Grygla for a year before being diagnosed with lung cancer.

Survivors include his wife, Gail of Trail; a son, Matthew of Trail; his father, Earl (Yvonne) Dehne of Brooklyn Park; his mother, Frances (Jim) Paulik of Mentor; a sister Gretchen Ingley of Blaine; two brothers, Peter (LuAnn) Dehne of Brooklyn Park and John (Marilyn) Dehne of Rapid City, S.D.; his wife's parents, George and Jean Adams of New Richmond, Ohio; two sisters-in-law; 15 nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother-in-law.
