Red
Lake Falls - Clarence Davis, 93, died on
Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at his home in Red Lake
Falls.
Mass of
Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 3 at St.
Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls with the
Rev. Tim Bushy officiating. Polly Beyer was the
organist and music was provided by St. Joseph's
Choir. Casketbearers were Robert St. Marie, Donald
Davis, Jr., Robert Gee, Dale Schmitz, Frank Broad
and Gary Vaudrin. Honorary casketbearers were all
of Clarence's grandchildren. Interment was in Rose
Hill Cemetery in Mentor.
Clarence
Ray Davis was born on February 22, 1910, the son of
Raymond and Leona (Stover) Davis, in Iowa.
In 1936,
he married Velva Roberts and the couple made their
home in Mentor. Velva died in 1975 and Clarence
continued to live in Mentor.
On May
23, 1976, he married Dulice St. Marie. The couple
lived in Red Lake Falls. Clarence loved hunting,
fishing and dancing. He worked for Vigen
Construction for many years. He was a member of St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake
Falls.
Survivors
include his wife, Dulice of Red Lake Falls; three
children, Donald (Elizabeth "Betty") of Red Lake
Falls, Janice (Gary) Bouffleur of Mentor, and
Charles (Kathy) of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; 18 great
great-grandchildren; step-children, Delbert St.
Marie of Milwaukee, Wisc., Julie (Jerry) King of
White Bear Lake, and Jo Ann (Willard) Brunelle,
Phyllis (Henry) Schmitz, Marlys (Clarence) Vaudrin,
and Carol (Kendall) Pederson, all of Red Lake
Falls.
Clarence
was preceded in death by his wife, Velva, and his
parents.
