Alice Dahle, 85

Thief River Falls - Alice Dahle, 85, died Monday, April 30, 2001 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Dahle obit p.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Dennis Raymond officiating. Ida Nordvall will be the organist, and the soloist will be Vanessa Anderson. Casketbearers will be Michael Butler, Darren Philipp, Justin Voecks, Dane Dahle, Joshua Anderson and Wade Halvorson. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m today (Wednesday, May 2) with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Alice Pauline Stigen was born on December 1, 1915 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Theodore and Emily (Hausker) Stigen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended school in Thief River Falls.

On February 12, 1940, Alice as united in marriage to Ervin Dahle at Thief River Falls. The couple lived in Thief River Falls for a short time before moving to Mayville, N.D. where they farmed for three years. They returned to Thief River Falls and lived there until 1948 when they moved to Crookston. Ervin served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. On August 3, 1951, the couple moved to Minneapolis. Ervin died on February 24, 1955. In the summer of 1955, Alice moved back to Thief River Falls to care for her father and uncle. In 1981, she moved to the Minneapolis area and lived there until 1994 when she returned to Thief River Falls where she had since resided.

Alice is survived by two daughters, C. Jane (Bob) Anderson of Thief River Falls and Barbara (Wayne) Halvorson of Ham Lake; a son, Lyle (Lucille) Dahle of Ozark, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Stigen of Thief River Falls; and several niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Joyce Butler; her parents; two great-granddaughters, Angela Anno and Sarah Anno; three brothers, Raymond George, Carl and Millard; and two sisters, Cora Dahle and Ella Stigen.
