Middle
River - Shannon Dahl, 46, died Saturday, March
9, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls as the result of a snowmobile accident near
Middle River.
Services were held on Friday, March 15, 2002 at
First Lutheran Church in Middle River with Rev.
Mary Ronning and Rev. Erling Huglen officiating.
Lois Peterson was the organist, and the soloist was
Parker Ronglie. Casketbearers were Scott Tamte,
Eddie Cervera, Lonnie Cervera, Calvin Nelson, Carl
Nelson, and Larry Aasen. Collins Funeral Home of
Middle River was in charge of the arrangements.
Shannon
Dale Dahl was born on April 22, 1955 at
International Falls, the son of Vernon and Evelyn
(Pearson) Dahl. He attended school in International
Falls and graduated from Roseau High School in
1973. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran
faith.
On
November 20, 1976, Shannon was united in marriage
to Vivian Nelson at Riverside Lutheran Church in
Wannaska. The couple made their home in Warroad
before moving to Texas and then Redmond, Ore. where
they lived for 10 years. They returned to
Minnesota, and for the past four years, had made
their home at Middle River. Shannon was employed by
Polaris Industries in Roseau.
He
was a member of the North American Hunting
Association.
Shannon
is survived by his wife, Vivian; two daughters,
Angela (Jason) Sanders of Tampa, Fla. and Ammie
(Andy) Canski of Redmond, Ore.; a granddaughter;
his parents; Vernon and Evelyn Dahl of Roseau; two
sisters, Tammy (Scott) Tamte of Minneapolis and
Melanie (Eddie) Cervera of Floresville, Texas;
Logan Wallace, who was like a son to Shannon; and
several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,
and other relatives.
He
was preceded in death by his grandparents.
