Alhert Dahl, 80

Tower - Alhert W. Dahl, 80, died on Friday, January 10, 2003 at his home in Tower.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 13 at Immanual Lutheran Church in Tower. Interment will be held in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.

Alhert Dahl was born on June 15, 1922, the son of Albin and Alice (Sorum) Dahl in Esplee Township of Marshall County. He grew up and attended Big Grove School. Later, he moved with his family to Reiner Township of Pennington County.

On April 18, 1948, he married Elsie Stenvik in Goodridge. The couple farmed, until moving to Tower in April, 1955. Alhert entered the construction field as a carpenter, working mostly for A.B.I. Contractors of Virginia, and retiring in 1987.

Alhert enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and logging. During his retirement, he enjoyed building deck furniture, as well as helping his family with building projects for their homes, cabins and for Dahl's Sunrise Dairy. Alhert loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tower, Carpenters and Joiners Local 606 of Virginia and a past member of the Tower Historical Society.

Survivors include hs wife, Elsie of Tower; four children, Ricky Dahl of Duluth, Wayne (Karen) Dahl of Embarrass, Allen (Patty) Dahl of Virginia and Noreeen Dahl of Pompano Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; a sister, Ardelle Wells of Thief River Falls; a sister-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Alhert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Orville and Elwood. A00003B2002JA15
