Lake Falls - Josephine Currie, 88, died
Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Villa St. Vincent in
Crookston.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, Jan. 26, at Johnson
Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, with Father Tim
Bushy officiating. Casket bearers included Marvin
Klipping, Kevin Cota, Virgil Cota, Rodney Boutain,
Darwin Boutain and Darrel Boutain. Interment will
be at St. Dorothy Cemetery in Dorothy.
Josephine
Bertha Olczak was born October 17, 1915 at Chippewa
Falls, Wis., the daughter of Steve and Bertha
Olczak. She grew up mostly in Warsaw, N.D. until
her marriage.
On June
27, 1939, Josephine was united in marriage to
Lawrence Currie in Warsaw, N.D. The couple farmed
near Grafton, N.D. until 1959, when they purchased
a farm near Wylie. They retired from farming and
bought a house in Red Lake Falls. After the death
of her husband, she moved into an apartment at
Fairview Manor, where she lived until she could no
longer take care of herself. She lived at Villa St.
Vincent from 1993 until the time of her death.
Josephine
liked to cook, garden and play bingo.
Survivors
include her sons, Edward of Crookston and Duane
(Leslie) Currie of Coon Rapids; daughters, Teresa
(Wade) Solarski of Grand Forks, N.D., Lorraine Cota
of St. Hilaire, Ernestine (Richard) Klipping of Red
Lake Falls, Evelyn (Lawrence) Boutain of Goodridge,
Donna (Alex Jr.) Boutain of Duluth and RoseAnne
Currie of Minneapolis; several grand and
great-grand children and nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by husband, parents, brothers and
