Windom
- Randy "J.R." Cummings Jr., 19, died Thursday,
January 24, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in
Rochester.
Services
were held Friday, February 1, at 2 p.m. at Grace
Evangelical Church in Strathcona with Rev. Robert
Ludwig officiating. Pat Ludwig was the organist,
and Vernon Lorenson and Michael Lorenson were
soloists. Interment was in the Lorenson Family
Cemetery, rural Strathcona with Gieseke Funeral
Chapel of Greenbush in charge of the
arrangements.
Randy
Lee "J.R." Cummings Jr. was born on November 11,
1982 in Fort Hood, Texas, the son of Randy Cummings
Sr. and Rebecca Anderson. At a young age, J.R.
moved to the Windom area where he attended Highland
and Winfair Schools. He was currently a senior at
Windom Area High School.
Randy
has participated in the Special Olympics and
enjoyed music, Nintendo games, watching movies,
riding his three-wheel bike, playing basketball
after lunch at school, and watching the
weather.
Survivors
include his mother and her husband, Rebecca and
David Lorenson of Windom; his father, Randy
Cummings Sr. in Colorado; a brother, Rhett Cummings
of Windom; grandparents, Kennis and Lila Anderson
of Greenbush and Forrest and Joy Cummings of
Junction City, Wisc.; step-grandparents, Melvin and
Jane Lorenson of Greenbush; and numerous aunts and
uncles.
Randy
was preceded in death by two cousins.
