Alice Cormican, 83

Euclid - Alice Cormican, 83, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services were held on Cormican, Alice Monday, February 24 at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with the Rev. Jeff Lytle officiating. Casey Wieland was the organist. Casketbearers were Mike, Chad, Kurt, Keith, Brad, Brent, Shawn, Kim, Brandon, Randy, Charles, John and Lee. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.

Alice Ruby Emeline Arlt was born on February 19, 1920, the daughter of August and Mattie (Gustafson) Arlt in Plummer. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in Plummer. She graduated from Plummer School in 1935.

In 1939, Alice was united in marriage to Henry "Hank" Konickson in Plummer. The couple made their hom near St. Hilaire, where they farmed small grain and raised livestock. Hank died in 1968. Later, Alice graduated from LPN School in Thief River Falls. She worked at the Thief River Clinic and, later, at the Crookston Clinic.

On May 10, 1970, Alice married Vern Cormican at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Euclid. They enjoyed their time fishing and boating at Springsteel Resort, traveling througout the United States, attending snowmobile races and dining out on the weekends. Alice loved flower gardening, knitting, crocheting, handiwork and cooking. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Vern of Euclid; two sons, Wayne (Marie) Konickson of Grygla and Ron (Donna) Konickson of St. Hilaire; daughter-in-law, Arlys Konickson of St. Hilaire; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold (Wilma) Arlt of Plummer; a sister, Evelyn Ulrich of Red Lake Falls; stepchildren, LeRoy (Kathy) Cormican of Vancouver, Wash., Marilyn Moe of Bemidji, Dale (Sandy) Cormican of Mentor and Della (Ralph) Montreuil of Euclid; and several step-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a son, Gerald Konickson; a daughter-in-law; her parents; a sister, Elnora Aanenson; and three brothers, Art Arlt, Irwin Arlt and Lloyd Arlt.
