Nyal Conger, 87

Somerset, Md. - Nyal Conger, 87, died Saturday, April 21, 2001 at her home in Somerset, Md.

Nyal Dokken was born in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1931. She graduated from George Washington University. After four years of wartime service with the WAVES during WWII, Nyal joined the State Department and served as a Foreign Service officer in Germany, Iran and Zimbabwe. Later, she accompanied her husband, John Conger, to Foreign Service posts in Switzerland and Columbia. The couple's marriage ended in divorce.

For 31 years, Nyal resided in Somerset, Md. where she was an enthusiastic bridge player and docent at the Society of Cincinnati.

Survivors include a sister, Corlan Dokken Glaws of Washington, D.C. and a brother, James Dokken of Turner, Ore. A00003B2000MY23
