Hilda
Cleven, 95
Owasso,
Okla. - Hilda Cleven, 95, of Owasso, Okla. and
formerly of Grygla, died on Friday, May 21, 2004 at
St. Francis Hospital in Broken Arrow, Okla.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, May 27 at the
Community Bible Church in Grygla, with Pastor John
Barkman, officiating. Casket bearers included Gary
Cleven, Terry Cleven, Milo Cleven, Michael Cleven,
Delano Cleven and Kelly Cleven. Interment will be
held at the Bethesda Cemetery in rural Grygla.
Hilda
was born January 3, 1909 in Grygla, the daughter of
Carl and Anna (Evans) Olson, where she grew up and
attended country school. On May 8, 1926 she was
united in marriage to Hans Cleven in Grygla, MN.
The couple made their home in rural Grygla where
she was a homemaker and they lived on the family
farm. Hans passed away in 1970.
Hilda
enjoyed crocheting and loved to travel. She moved
to Oklahoma in June 1974 and she would spend
summers in Grygla.
Survivors
include one son, Charles (Margie) Cleven of
Warroad; one daughter, Ardelle Bryant of Owasso,
Okla.; two daughters-in-law, Gloria Cleven of
Grygla and Doris Cleven of Grygla; 12
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six
great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Sally
Olstad of Minneapolis and Genevieve Jarshaw of
Newfolden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Hans Cleven;
two sons, Albert and Harlan Cleven; five brothers,
Olaf Olson, Arvid Olson, Norman Olson, Waldemar
Olson and Walfred Olson; four sisters Gladys Olsen,
Ella Knutson, Corrine Freitag and Evelyn Joppru;
and one great-great-granddaughter, Alliya Jensen.
