Leonard Chrzanowski, 75

Badger - Leonard Chrzanowski, 75, of Badger and formerly of Greenbush, died on Friday, January 16, 2004.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenbush, with Father Don Braukman officiating. Special groups of honor were members of the American Legion, the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. Casket bearers included Tim Kasprowicz, Rick, Jamie Jon and Jeremy Sovde, Mark Novacek and Todd Temple. Interment was held at Blessed Sacrament Cemetery with military honors provided by Moen-Zimek Post 88, American Legion of Greenbush and the Badger VFW post 3832.

Leornard Jerome Chrzanowski, the son of Joseph and Lucy (Mooney) Chrzanowski, was born October 2, 1928 in Greenbush. He attended school in Greenbush. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a tank commander. After his discharge in 1956, he worked on the farm at home and also in the iron industry in Hibbing.

Leonard married Lois Sovde on December 18, 1971, in Greenbush. He worked in Roseau for Dorwart Motors for many years. He worked for Jim's Game Supply of Greenbush. He also worked in Greenbush for Thompson Motors, which later became Swanson Motors and Greenbush Motors. He was currently working at T-Off Sale in Greenbush, which he throughly enjoyed.

Leonard was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, The Knights of Columbus, The Legion Post of Greenbush, the VFW Post of Badger and the Eagles Club of Thief River Falls.

He was very active in the American Legion and the Greenbush Boy Scouts Program. He also served on the Greenbush City Council for many years.

Survivors include his wife Lois; one son Todd of Grand Forks, N.D.; one daughter Lisa (Kaj) Meinhardt of St. Michael; three sisters, Genevieve (Felix) Gonshorowski of Greenbush, Dorothy Kasprowicz of Greenbush, and Carol (Ed) Kukowski of Newfolden; and many other relatives and friends.
