River Falls - Raymond Chaput, 80, died Sunday,
Nov. 9, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief
River Falls.
Mass
of Christian Burial will be
10:30
a.m., Wednesday, (today) Nov. 12, 2003, at St.
Francis Xavier Church, Oklee, with Father John
Kleinwachter presiding. Casetbearers are: John
Berberich, Gary LaCoursiere, Kelan Bruggeman, Larry
Bruggeman, Rick Chaput and Tim Chaput. Burial will
be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Oklee.
Visitation
was from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003 at the
Johnson Funeral Home, Oklee, with a 7 p.m. Wake
Service, and for one hour prior to services at the
church on Wednesday.
Raymond
Chaput was born Dec. 11, 1922 at Olga, N.D., the
son of Albert and Antoinette (Marcelin) Chaput. He
was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Faith.
He grew up and attended country school.
On
Nov. 27, 1942, Raymond was united in marriage to
Lorraine Einerson in North Dakota. He moved to
Minnesota in 1948 and settled in Lambert Township.
He was a very ambitious businessman and specialized
in farming potatoes, raised beef, chickens and
pigs. He had three potato houses from which he sold
certified seed. Raymond also did a lot of custom
work and drove mail truck for Paradis. He also
worked at Arctic Cat. In 1994, Raymond retired from
farming.
He
was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
He
is survived by children, Gary Chaput, Eagan, James
(Carol) Chaput, Brooks, Nancy (Michael) Person,
Hendrum, and Randy (Michelle) Chaput, Red Lake
Falls; nine grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by wife, Lorraine on Jan. 9,
1996 and a brother, Eugene.
