Carpenter, 52
Plummer
- Danny Carpenter, 52, died on Monday, January
27, 2003 at his home in Plummer.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, January 31 at
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer with Rev. Frank
Ehling officiating. Linda Olson was the organist.
Casketbearers were Dan's brothers, Gary Carpenter,
Lyle Carpenter, Russ Carpenter, Corey Carpenter and
Kim Carpenter. Interment was in Emardville Cemetery
in Red Lake County.
Dan
Louis Carpenter was born on March 4, 1950, the son
of Eugene and Jean (Braaten) Carpenter in Thief
River Falls. He grew up and attended school in
Plummer and attended Northland College under a
wrestling scholarship.
On
October 9, 1976, he married Louise Schaff. He
worked at the Plummer Locker and Commercial
Construction doing carpenter work. He owned and
operated a construction business in Beulah, N.D.
and also worked for Carpenter's Union in various
states. Danny also worked for Concrete, Inc. for
five years and then worked for Central Specialties,
driving truck. He also drove semi for his
brother.
Danny
loved to trap, hunt, fish, snowmobile, garden, cook
and golf. In the 1970s, he raced snowmobiles. He
was an assistant coach to Jerry Frietag for the
baseball league in Plummer.
Survivors
include his mother, Jean Carpenter of Plummer;
sons, Blaine and Jason, both of Fargo, N.D.;
sisters, Carol (Vernon) Hovet of Wautoma, Wisc.,
Judy (Jim) Kelly of Plummer, Melody Beaudoin of
Boise, Idaho, Cindy (Bruce) Thomas of Manhatten,
Kan. and Nancy Holmes of Thief River Falls;
brothers, Gary (Joan) of Jamestown, N.D., Lyle
(Fern) of Bagley, Russ (Denise) of Plummer, Corey
of Forest City, Iowa and Kim (Minette) of Hawley;
and many nieces and nephews.
Danny
was preceded in death by his father, Eugene, and
