Thief
River Falls - Edwin Busler, 77, died Tuesday,
March 23, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief
River Falls.
Funeral
services were held at 2
p.m.
on Friday, March 26, at the Johnson Green Funeral
Home in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Thomas Bentley
officiating. Casket bearers included: Matthew
Johnsrud, Brandon Johnsrud, Jason Johnsrud, Roger
Johnsrud and Danny Myers. Military honors were
provided by the Thief River Falls American Legion
and the Thief River Falls VFW. Interment will
follow in the Clara Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Edwin
Busler was born January 23, 1927, the son of George
and Effie (Badders) Busler in Taylor, Maryland. He
grew up in Maryland. He served in the United States
Military for over 10 years, serving terms in
Vietnam. After his discharge, he found an ad in the
newspaper for land for sale near Thief River Falls
and bought it, moving here to live. He has lived at
his farmland since his military service. He worked
at Arctic Cat as a welder for some time. He raised
cattle, pigs and chickens, and also farmed grain
for many years. This past winter Edwin moved into
the Riverside Terrace Highrise in Thief River
Falls.
He
enjoyed reading, planting gardens and taking care
of his trees.
Survivors
include sisters, Zora Bain and Yvonne Busler; one
niece, Dorothy Hagen; one half sister, Priscilla
(Hagen) Smith and sister-in-law, Louise Hagan.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary
Anderson and May Dement; one brother, George; and
half brother, John Hagan.
