Florence Bukowski, 83

Munich, N.D. - Florence M. Bukowski, 83, died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at the Good Samaritan Center in Devils Lake, N.D.

Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Munich with Father Tony Hession officiating. Readers were Kenneth Schuler and Richard Martinson, and gift bearers were Denise Bukowski and Jennifer Laframboise. Casketbearers were Joshua Bukowski, Patrick Martinson, Nathan Laframboise, Gordon Peterson, Robert Hall and Terry Hall. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with Gilbertson Funeral Home of Devils Lake in charge of the arrangements.

Florence M Cornelison was born on February 4, 1918 at Munich, N.D., the daughter of Ricie and Helen (Hall) Cornelison. She was raised and educated in Munich, graduating from Munich High School in 1937. She played basketball while attending high school.

On July 21, 1943, Florence was united in marriage to Clements Bukowski at Munich. The couple farmed near Munich and Starkweather until their retirement in 1983 when they moved into Munich.

Florence enjoyed attending basketball games in Munich and Starkweather, and her favorite flowers were African violets.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Christian Mothers.

Florence is survived by her husband, Clements; two sons, Robert (Amy) Bukowski of Munich and James (Sheila) Bukowski of Grand Forks, N.D.; three daughters, Josetta (Edward) Volk of Mesa, Ariz., Marcedes (Kenneth) Schuler of Higley, Ariz. and Cheryl (Richard) Martinson of Munich; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrtle (Herman "Bud") Petruck of Medford, Ore. and Gertie Janzen of Langdon, N.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter. A00003B2001JN13
