Gloria Bugge, 89

Thief River Falls - Gloria Bugge, 89, died on Monday, August 19, 2002 at her daughter's home in rural St. Hilaire.

Funeral services will be held on Bugge, Gloria photo Friday, August 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. The soloist will be Vanessa Anderson. Casketbearers will be Fred Bernier, Morgan Bernier and Todd Kruse. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 22 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to services on Friday.

Gloria Bugge was born on November 20, 1912, the daughter of James and Evangeline (Rockstad) Beard, in Thief River Falls. She was raised by her grandparents, Martin and Caroline Rockstad of Thief River Falls. She attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1929.

In March of 1932, Gloria was united in marriage to William Bugge in Thief River Falls. She worked at Oakland Park Sanitarium for a time. She and her husband then owned and operated Bugge's Upholstery until 1994. William died in 1972 and Gloria continued working at the upholstery shop.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Business Women's Association. She volunteered with Reach to Recovery. Gloria also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Janis Davis of Thief River Falls, Sharon Gould of Los Angeles, Calif. and Sue (Fred) Bernier of St. Hilaire; three grand children; and two great-grandchildren.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, William, two children, Carol and Priscilla, in infancy; and one great-grandson.
