Melvyn R. Budke, 66 Edina - Melvyn R. Budke, 66, of Edina and formerly of Thief River Falls, died suddenly on Monday, May 17, 2004. Memorial services were held on Friday, May 21 at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. Interment was held prior to services at Lakwood Cemetery. Mel was a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, but was especially known as a people person. Mel served the United Methodist Church for 42 years as an ordained minister, including a 1981-87 appointment in Thief River Falls. Survivors include his wife, Elaine; daughters, Carrie (John) Saxon, Jana Budke (Paul Wald) and Tricia Budke; three grandchildren; one sister, Doris (Michael) Warner; step-mother, Shirley Budke; step-sisters, Gennie (Floyd) Hackett and Betty (Evan) Warden; step brothers, Gary (Ginny) Rosenau; special aunt, Helen Sinell; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
