Hon. Gerald "Butch" Brun

Red Lake - The Honorable Gerald F. "Butch" Brun, Chairman of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, died on Saturday, April 26 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

On Thursday, May 1 at 9 a.m., the Chairman's casket will be taken from the Community Center, where visitation is being held, to the Red Lake Middle School. Friends are being invited to walk behind the hearse from the Community Center to the Middle School, where visitaiton will continue until the funeral mass.

Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. in the Red Lake Middle School. A meal will be served at the Humanities Center after the funeral.

Gerald "Butch" Brun was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was the center of a large circle of loyal and loving friends. He was also a public figure, having served on the Red Lake Tribal Council for 16 years as Red Lake representative, a four-years term as chairman in the 1990s, and nine months of his current term as chairman.
