- Lester Brown, 78, died on Saturday, July 26,
2003 at the Ah-Gwah-Ching Center in
Walker.
Funeral
services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July
30
(today)
at the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee
with the Rev. John Kleinwachter officiating.
Casketbearers will be Leo Olson, Charles Seeger,
James Paquin, Jim Hagge, Willard Bergeron and Roy
Rystad. Interment will be in the Presbyterian
Cemetery in Brooks. Visitation will be held for one
hour prior to services at the chapel.
Lester
Brown was born in Poplar River Township of Red Lake
County on June 6, 1925, the son of Chris and Mary
(Stahl) Brown. He grew up and attended school at
District #14, near Brooks. He lived on the family
farm with his parents. When his father died in
1977, Lester and his mother purchased a home in
Oklee, where they lived until his mother died in
1986. Lester then moved into Oklee for several
years. In 1998, he moved to First Care Nursing Home
in Fosston and in June 2003, he moved into the
Ah-Gwah-Ching Center in Walker, where he has since
resided. Lester enjoyed movies, hunting, fishing
and driving around.
Survivors
include brothers, Ernest (Alice) of Holcombe,
Wisc., and Leon (Carol) of Arkdale, Wisc.; sisters,
Esther Mysliwy of South Milwaukee, Wisc., Bernice
Hagge of South Milwaukee, Wisc., and Ethel Paquin
of Oklee; a sister-in-law, Helen of South
Milwaukee, Wisc.; and several nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lester
was preceded in death by his parents; a sister,
Alice Bergeron; brothers, Earl, Bill and Harold;
four brothers-in-law; and one nephew.
