Grace Brown, 92

Thief River Falls - Grace A. Brown, 92, died on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Prayer services were held on Sunday, February 9 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Eric Hanson officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, February 13 at 2 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif.

Grace Ardell Lindahl was born on February 18, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Loe) Lindahl in Bemidji. Her mother died when Grace was two years old and her grandmother raised her. She grew up in Bemidji and, as a young lady, she moved to Minneapolis.

On March 24, 1928, she was united in marriage to Harold Brown in Minneapolis. The couple lived in Chicago for many years where Grace worked in an antique shop. The couple retired to Orange County, Calif. where Grace continued to live until the early 1980s. Harold died in 1982. Grace moved to Thief River Falls after his death and has continued to live in Thief River Falls. She moved into Oakland Park Nursing Home in 1999.

Grace had a classy flair about her. She was an accomplished piano player who played up until her death. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include a nephew; brothers,Leslie Lindahl of Oregon, Bob Lindahl of California, Glen Lindahl of Dubuque, Iowa, Aldyne Salmi of Alabama, Helen Lindahl of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Bobby Glovsky of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas, two brothers, Walter and Lyle; two sisters, Joyce and Margaret; and her husband, Harold. A00003B2003FB12
